I am a friendly freelance editor with a passion for editing and an intuition for how a piece should be cut and what looks good on screen. I am able to apply my skills to a variety of different genres of programme, but my speciality lies in sports editing. I have a proven track record of editing alongside producers/directors as well as being able to work independently producing high quality work.
Having learnt to edit in linear suites, I have transferred the skills acquired here to the non-linear environment and am able to edit creatively using all the currently available Avid systems as well as Final Cut Pro (with Motion and Color). I now regularly edit using linear and non-linear systems with equal competency.
I fully understand that it is imperative that producer/director and editor get on whilst working together in a edit suite - otherwise the time spent is often uncomfortable and unproductive. It is lucky then that I am an easy person to get on with and that I listen to the what the other person in the room is saying to me. I know that many editors have a prima-donna attitude that is not conducive to good relations and such an attitude would have no place in an edit suite where I was working. I have also been known to make the tea when the opportunity presents itself!
